Rosalcy Lalande de Pomerol 2008
Roslacy is a 55% Merlot/45% Cab Franc second wine from Chateau Tournefeuille. The château and chai are situated on a hill atop the valley of the Barbanne, a small river that separates Lalande-de-Pomerol from the more famous wine-producing appellation of Pomerol. Just on the other side of the Barbanne from Tournefeuille lies Château Pétrus, one of Bordeaux’s best-known wine estates. The vineyard of Tournefeuille encompasses 18 hectares.
The 3 hectares of Rosalcy belong to the Lalande de Pomerol appellation. Its vines are distributed as follows: - A hillside exposed North, on beautiful gravelly clays; it's a revelation in hot vintages; the cabernets francs are distinguished there; - A clay-silty plateau with flowing soils, developing towards the village of Néac, where the wines will be powerful and structured, especially the Merlots. - A clayey-loamy foot growing in a meadow along the river.
