Birichino Grenache Besson Vineyard Vignes Centenaires 2017
109-year-old vines in Santa Clara Valley, just east of the eastern edge of Santa Cruz Mountains. The guys really seem to have fun making these wines. This one gets about 10% dried, and then a long maceration. Pale rose red. Perfumed and delicate with real lift and more than a hint of Gredos Garnacha. Transparent in every way with quite a bit of structure hiding underneath the perfume. Good fruity core. Long. A real success!" - Jancis Robinson MW
