Accordini Valpolicella Classico Ripasso Acinatico 2010
WA
91
Availability: Sold Out
The tasty 2010 Recioto della Valpolicella Classico Acinatico is a particularly concentrated and dense expression that opens with inky darkness and bright tones of cherry liqueur, pressed violets, tobacco and chocolate. There’s a touch of astringent bitterness that is well wrapped within the wine’s syrupy sweetness. Drink 2014-2020. ...read more

Adami Prosecco Valdobbiadene Vigna Giardino 2013
Availability: In Stock
A fantastic expression of single vineyard Prosecco, that, since its not from 'Cartizze', hits the shelf at a realistic price. The Vigneto Giradino has vines, if memory serves, going back to the 1920's on its terraced slopes. It's one ofthe most pretigious sites in prosecco and the Adami gang does it justice with this drier, yet terribly refreshing version.

Aglaea Etna Rosso N'Anticchia 2010
Availability: In Stock
The 2009 version of this micro-production Nerello Mascalese from winemaking genius Paolo Caciorgna blew up the scene with a monster 94 point score from Wine Advocate. This wine, once again produced from their one acre parcel of 100+ year-old vines, is better. More refined, more in tune with its supple, silky clearly Burgundian model, this is truly one of Etna's Grand Crus. But please, decant at least one hour prior to serving!

Aglaea Etna Rosso Talia 2012
Availability: In Stock
A Burgundy-inspired spin on old vine Nerello Mascalese from the great Pietro Caciorgna. The man has a tender touch in the cellar and it show in the 2012 Talia, a wine of finesse, elegance and quiet weight on the palate. Incense, red cherry, plum, ripe but abundant tannins, all add up to an extremely tasty, refined drinking experience, with just a touch of the 'old world' to seal the deal.

Alberaia Rosso di Toscana 2011
Availability: Low Availability
Paolo Caciorgna, one of Italy's top winemaking consultants (Soldera, Montevertine) recently launched two new labels, along with his father Pietro, under their own name, Alberaia being one of them. I don't know if I've had a finer bottle of Tuscan Sangiovese for the money than this 2011 Alberaia. It's not the biggest, mind you, but certainly finer than any I can recall with is perfectly integrated, poised, Pinot Noir-inspired red fruit flavors that enhance the aromatic qualities of the wine as well. A deft touch here, for sure. So pretty!
