MAS DES BRESSADES 2007 ROSE COSTIERES DE NIMES

  

This is our pick of Robert Kacher’s prolific litter of Costieres de Nimes rose wines this year.  An enticing, captivating blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 20% Cinsault, the grapes for this wine are grown specifically for rose production (as opposed to the more typical scenario where it comes from lightly pressing the red wine grapes to bleed off some juice and concentrate the rest, called saignee).  Cyril and Natalie nailed it this year, the juicy mid-palate fruit of the Grenache, rich, melon and berry fruit with spicy notes from the Syrah and Cinsault’s ability to fill out the mid-palate make this one of the most complete pink wines we’ve ever had.  And it’s under $10 even with the stinky dollar!  Fire up the grill.
