Having to sell a wine of this quality for this kind of tariff is the price one must pay for being “Chianti Classico adjacent.” How adjacent?  Lucignano is just a few hundred meters north of the Chianti Classico zone, which probably costs them a good 20%.  But hey, at least they’re still inspired to make really great, traditionally styled Chianti and not charge an arm and a leg (as if they could...).  The wine while not heavy, is sneakily concentrated, more Pinot in its approach, with deceptive length, good acids and soft tannins for the genre.
