Cabernet Franc
Most often used in blends and not too often bottled by itself, Cabernet Franc is widely grown in Bordeaux and there is blended into some of the finest wines made. Cabernet Franc is also the red grape of the Chinon and Madiran regions of France, where it makes medium-bodied aromatic reds, and in Hungary it results in some great wines as well. Grown widely in California and Washington, Cabernet Franc can tolerate different soils and climates, but can be victimized by over-cropping.
