SENEJAC 2004 HAUT MEDOC

It’s fair to say that in general, 03 is a far better vintage than 04, but don’t let the folks down in the southern Medoc hear you say that. In this neck of the woods, the soils have very little if no clay and the vines there had a tough time retaining the much needed water during the heat wave of 03. Yet we thought this estate made a very good 03, but this is clearly the better of the two. Its deep ruby color is accompanied by elegant aromas of black currants, cedar, dried herbs, and earth. Medium-bodied, with excellent purity as well as a spicy finish, this affordable, gorgeously proportioned Haut-Medoc is pure pleasure
