BODEGAS BERNABE NAVARRO 2004 LEVA DANIEL
$28.99
Quantity:
This wine, produced under the label Bodega Bernabe Navarro, was made for importer Aurelio Cabestrero and was named for his son. Of course the first question is...Leva? The next is are wines like this one from Alicante and Jimenez Landi from Mentrida going to become the important new movement in Spanish wine? It’s very early on and these have no history as yet but they are very distinctive, very modern and even a little intellectual, and definitely interesting. The blend here is 30% Tempranillo and the rest roughly equal portions of Syrah, Merlot and Mourvedre. Deep, dark, and multifaceted with all kinds of smoke, currant, toast, and pepper elements playing off each other, there’s a lot more here than even the nice 90 point Advocate review would indicate. Interesting beverage.
