This wine was formerly known as the Signataire but apparently the winery was having issues with perhaps another winery (why else would you change the name?) so this new moniker was picked. On the table with the excellent E & E Black Pepper, this wine more than held its own with its flashy, spicy black fruits, particularly given the price differential.
All Barossa, all old vines, for some reason this wine and its 2001 counterpart were never reviewed by “the Bob” but the 2000, from a mediocre vintage, garnered 91 points and the 2003 merited a whopping 93, so go figure where this one would end up. One of the best vintages yet for this label and we’ve been selling it since 1994, mate. . . . . . . . .
